Team Info
Team members who are selected during the year are based on stroke average, conduct, attitude and overall accomplishments. NNJGA pays for most all of the expenses of each team. We currently send two (2) boys teams and two (2) girl teams out annually.
Playing for these teams; players gain experience competing at the “next level” against some very good players from different Associations. College Coaches attend these events.
Whalen-Haase Golf Scholarship
Scholarships are awarded annually to two to three NNJGA Members who submit in writing a resume to the selection Committee Chaired by Aleda Nelson. The Northern Nevada Golf Association contributes to this fund each year.
Nevada State Jr. Championship
We will be the Host site this year for this State Championship. It will be held at Washoe GC June 29-30. Players will be selected for this event based on their stroke average from designated events indicated with an asterisk * on the schedule.

Players are invited to this event buy finishing with a win 1st place (and ties) win from each age division throughout the tournament season.

Deadline for your application to the NNJGA Office is April 1st 2009. By getting your signed application back to our office by deadline helps to plan for 2009 Season and know how many openings we will have in each level. Remember, your Golf Professional MUST sign the application before mailing it back!! Confirmation letters will go out via email. Please print your email address clearly on the Application. Remember, Applications will be returned if not signed by your Golf Professional.
For 2009 there will be no increase in Renewal fees or entry fees for all levels. We will continue the Membership Fee discount for families with 3 or more children only. Unfortunately, we are not able to extend the same discount to families with 2 children due to raising cost of running this program.

Note from Pam: Just as a reminder. When you receive the 2009 Players Tournament Booklet make sure to remember to send in your “parent help form” along with entry forms and fees for the event(s) you are going to work.
Confirmations will be sent confirming your work dates. NNJGA requires two (2) scoring dates per child in the program for continue eligibility as a Member of NNJGA. I think all of us working as a “Team” really makes a difference with this program from other junior programs.
The junior Members conducted themselves excellent in 2008 and I am sure the same conduct will hold true from our Members in 2009. Remember, shirts must be tucked in, hats forward prior to coming to the Registration table. If your shirt is not tucked in you will be asked to leave, tuck it in, then come back to register. It is so important that we look good at each event and represent NNJGA well.
A special thanks to all of our NNJGA staff members: Dean Miller, Branden Dalton, Trent Hayes, Brady Voorhees, Jared Becher, Laura Ferrera and Alyson Felesina. They did a great job assisting our juniors throughout the 2008 season and I look forward to having them back in 2009!!
Thank you for being a NNJGA Member.
