The NNJGA is one of the best organizations in teaching kids the game. It's a great way to introduce new players to the game or let experienced players see where their game stands against the best players in Northern Nevada. The NNJGA is also great because the tournaments are inexpensive and it really gives every kid a chance to play if they desire. The staff, players, and parents are all great and in my time in the NNJGA I could not have asked to meet better people. I still have many friends today that I originally met playing in the NNJGA tournaments. I feel playing in the NNJGA tournaments led me to be on the University golf team and I think that any golfer that has a dream of playing on a university golf team can do it through the NNJGA. Playing for UNR with Scotty Smith and Jared Becher reminds me a lot of the old NNJGA days. My time at UNR has been great because the college golf scene is so large and it gives you the best idea of how your game stacks up against the nation. Every day I get to play and practice with some of the best college players in the nation. That only pushes me harder to become a better golfer and try to play my best at the highest stage. College golf is also great because of all the people you meet on your team, other athletes, and other students at the university. Like the NNJGA you will meet people that will become friends for the rest of your life. It is an opportunity that anyone should take if they have the chance. ~ Greg Wenzel - UNR Men’s Golf Team

First off, junior golf for me was a real eye opener, it took me into a whole new world of competing with kids my age. I had a wonderful time at every tournament when i was a kid. The staff and everyone was super friendly and always made it fun for us. Also hanging out with my friends, meeting new people, and finding peers my age that love to do what I do was also beneficial. For example, I met Greg Wenzel when I was nine years old at the Wildcreek Executive course, and him and I have been friends ever since. Since my junior golf days I have taken my game to a new level, which is College Golf. I'm currently on the University of Nevada, Reno's golf team. Without playing junior golf I don't think I would have ever made to where i am today in the golfing world. So thank you Pam, your organization is absolutely amazing, and it is a pleasure working for you every year.

The lessons I learned from playing competitive junior golf were ones I didn’t even realize I was learning at the time. The ability to think and perform under pressure; handling the thrill of success and the humility of failures in stride; vigorously competing with others with dignity, honesty and respect; and the knowledge that the harder you work the better you become. I didn’t realize it until later, but these same lessons transcend the game of golf and are equally applicable to almost every facet of life after junior golf. There is no doubt that playing competitive junior golf helped prepare me for aspects of business and life that you experience each day.

The NNJGA was instrumental not only in my growth as a golfer but as a person as well. The skills I acquired have been the cornerstone of my business philosophy. Integrity, etiquette and honesty shape who I am. I owe a tremendous amount to my years in the NNJGA.

After my first experience playing NNJGA tournaments as an 11 year I fell in love with the fun of competing in golf tournaments. It was such a great experience being able to make new friends and play golf against them throughout the summer. I cherish the memories and experiences I gained from playing NNJGA tournament golf. I would not be the person I am today without them.
